Emotions are powerful forces, which can determine our outlook on life based on the events occurring in our environments and the world around us! Â For Black women, managing these emotions can be challenging, especially when we have to be 'strong' for others.
Negative emotions and feelings can create stress, which can upset the body’s hormone balance and disrupt the chemicals in our brain! Strong emotions can manifest as chronic and/or pain in the body aches, an increased heart rate, heaviness in the chest, shortness of breath and an overall feeling of tiredness (fatigue). Depression is often associated with many of these symptoms along with headaches and digestive issues, and anxiety can cause an upset stomach.
Poor emotional health can weaken your body's immune system. This makes you more susceptible to colds and other infections during emotionally difficult times. When you are feeling stressed, anxious, or upset, you may find it difficult to care for your health as well as you should.
Sound therapy heals your body from a cellular level.
Through vibrations and audible sound, this therapeutic practice reroutes old thought patterns and creates new neural pathways. These changes to your brain enable you to encourage positive thinking, realign energy in your body, and create a path for healing!   Listening to the sound of a singing bowl or playing one yourself relaxes your body by slowing down the heart rate and brings you in alignment with Mother Earth’s pulse (frequency). It relieves the mind by cleansing our seven main energy points (chakras) by raising positive thoughts and spirit.
