This book project presented an opportunity for Black women to find their collective voice through the power of words. The invitation to participate explicitly stated that contributors did not need to be ‘qualified’ writers, journalists or wordsmiths. Instead we invited them to consider how they could use the space to express their thoughts and feelings, share suggestions for self-care, to share how they overcame personal challenges on their journey to finding their soul purpose, to write a letter to their younger selves and messages to help a Black girl to grow in confidence and to submit poems and prose.  What was submitted was truly humbling, inspiring, thought provoking and motivating.
