Croydon Roots Brings Black Heritage, Storytelling and Performance to Soul-Full
Friday 23rd - Sunday 25th October

Croydon Roots – A Soul-Full Celebration of Croydon's Black Heritage
Free three-day Black History Month celebration will unite generations through live performance, heritage workshops, film and community storytelling from 23–25 October.
Funded by Croydon Council, Soul-Full will present Croydon Roots – A Soul-Full Celebration of Croydon's Black Heritage, a free three-day Black History Month programme running from Friday 23 October to Sunday 25 October at 62 George Street, Croydon, CR0 1PD.
Celebrating the people, creativity and stories that have shaped Black Croydon, the programme will bring generations together to honour local trailblazers, amplify new voices and uncover untold stories. Visitors can enjoy spoken word and live music, explore photographs, objects and testimonies in the Croydon Roots community exhibition, take part in hands-on heritage workshops, film showing and record their contributions.
Honouring Black Women from Croydon
Soul Purpose 360 is honouring Black women of Croydon and is inviting you to be a part of that process.
For decades, Black women have played pivotal roles in across the borough from politics, policing, business and community enterprises to nursing, midwifery and much, much more. This is your opportunity to shine a light on them. Whether it's someone who is no longer with us, retired or continuing to do their best for the community benefit.
We want to honour 10 Black women's contribution through a photo exhibition gallery at Soul-Full and through our next edition of Owning Every Line Anthology book to be published in 2027.
